Kathy Steele, MN, CS has been in private practice in Atlanta, Georgia for over three decades, and is an Adjunct Faculty at Emory University. Kathy is a Fellow and a past President of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD), and is the recipient of a number of awards for her clinical and published works, including the 2010 Lifetime Achievement Award from ISSTD. She has authored numerous publications in the field of trauma and dissociation, including three books, and frequently lectures internationally on topics related to trauma, dissociation, attachment, and therapeutic resistance and impasses.

$150 per month; $15 sign-up fee; 6 month commitment
Are you wanting to add more depth to your work as a therapist? Come join our monthly consultation group with Kathy Steele, MN, CS, where we will co-create a safe, lively, and interesting space to share our successes, failures, questions, and uncertainties. We will cover a wide variety of topics, including the person of the therapist and self care; how to manage challenging cases (including personality disorders); how to work with complex trauma and dissociation; how to work with aggression, shame, self harm, suicidality, and other challenging behaviors; compassionate approaches to defenses in the “resistant” client; how to understand and work with process; ethical dilemmas; the joys and struggles of being a therapist; and much, much more.
Continuing Education Credit – Variable Hours (as Ongoing Peer Group Consultation)
CE credit may be earned depending on the therapist’s type of licensure and state regulations.
Qualifications and Group Structure
Group membership is open to licensed therapists of any experience level. Space is very limited; if you are unable to register due to low stock, please reach out to admin@avant-training.com if you would like to be added to the waiting list. This group is for peer consultation only and is not considered formal supervision.
Schedule and Commitment
This consultation group will meet on the first Thursday of every month from 2-4pm ET (US & Canada), starting on September 1, 2022. The minimum initial commitment to join this group is six months. Membership may be renewed in six-month increments. Once you register, you are committed to paying for all remaining consultation sessions through the end of your first six months of participation. Payment will be processed the first week of every month.
