Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I access an online workshop?

After you register for a workshop, you will be added to our attendee list. All registered attendees will receive an email in the week before the workshop containing a private Zoom video link and a passcode, which will allow you to log on to our live Zoom video conference on the scheduled date. Presentations will begin promptly at the designated start time; please plan to log on early so that you don’t miss any information.

To learn more about how to download Zoom, navigate the app, and check in the day of the workshop, head to our online workshop info page. Feel free to reach out to us at admin@avant-training.com if you have any additional questions!

  • What is your cancellation policy?

Refunds will be honored for attendee cancellations received at least five (5) days prior to the date of the workshop. Please note that payments made on our website incur a non-recoupable processing fee with our payment portal, so all standard refunds will have a three percent fee deducted from the full amount.

Due to these unpredictable times, we recognize that a speaker may have to cancel unexpectedly. If rescheduling is possible, all tickets will be transferred automatically to the new date and participants will be updated of the change by email. If you are unable to attend the new date, our above cancellation policy applies, and you must notify us at least five (5) days prior to the workshop in order to receive a refund. In the case of any outright cancellation by the speaker or by Avant, we will issue all attendees a full refund.

Should you have any questions regarding our cancellation policy, please contact us by email at admin@avant-training.com or by phone at 404-965-3035.

  • Do you offer ticket transfers?

At this time, we are unable to transfer your ticket to an alternate workshop. Any change in participant availability is subject to the cancellation policy above and must be brought to our attention at least five (5) days prior to the workshop in order to qualify for a refund.

  • What is the schedule for a workshop day?

All virtual workshops will begin promptly at the start time on the date they are scheduled. Please be online a few minutes early so we can begin on time. Our half-day/three-hour workshops will have one 15-minute break midway through. Our full-day/5-hour+ workshops will have two 15-minute breaks and one 1-hr lunch break. At the end of every workshop, we will send a link to a secure, anonymous workshop evaluation survey, which we request that you complete in a timely manner to provide us with valuable, honest information that we use to improve our future programming.

  • What is your recording policy for online workshops?

All live virtual workshops, unless otherwise noted, will be recorded for viewing by registered homestudy participants. Attendees at the live workshop who participate with their camera engaged or utilize a profile image are consenting to have their video or image recorded. If you are unwilling to consent to have your profile or video image recorded, be sure to keep your camera off and do not use a profile image. Likewise, attendees who un-mute during the workshop and participate orally are consenting to have their voices recorded. If you are not willing to consent to have your voice recorded during the workshop, you will need to keep your mute button activated and communicate exclusively using the “chat” feature on Zoom.

  • How do I earn CE credit?

Psychologists: Avant Training is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Avant Training maintains responsibility for all programs and their content.

LPC: Avant Training has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 7225. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Avant Training is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.

Social Workers: Avant Training gains approval for Core or Ethics CE credit for each workshop individually through the Georgia Society for Clinical Social Workers (GSCSW).

Related Hours apply for marriage and family therapists, unless otherwise noted on the workshop page. Other professional disciplines (ex: psychiatrists, nurses, etc.) may be able to receive CE credit by petitioning their board and providing copies of attendance documentation and workshop materials.

Licensing and continuing education requirements vary by state and type of license. If you are unsure whether or not a workshop will meet your licensing or continuing education requirements, please contact your state’s regulatory authority for verification.

Full attendance is required in order to receive CE credit. Credits for partial attendance are not awarded. We will provide documentation of your hours of attendance for your records in the event that you are able to petition your CE board for credit.

  • How do I get my CE certificate?

CE certificates are distributed by email at the end of every workshop. You must be present for the entire workshop to receive your certificate.

  • What if I need accommodations?

Please let us know in advance if you need any type of accommodation. You may check the accommodations box on the ticket checkout page and we will reach out to you, or you can contact us directly by email at admin@avant-training.com or phone at 404-965-3035. We will make every effort to meet any disability-related needs in order to provide you with the most accessible and effective learning experience.

  • What do I do if I have an issue or complaint?

Any complaints or issues related to an Avant Training program, speaker, or employee should be directed via email to admin@avant-training.com. If you contact us, please indicate in the subject line that you are submitting a complaint or grievance. In the body of the email, provide your name, email address, phone number, and the date, reason for your complaint, and if there is anything you need us to do to rectify the problem. When Avant Training takes steps to address the complaint (adjusting workshop content, contacting a presenter, or modifying our procedures), we will keep your identity anonymous unless you explicitly ask otherwise. We will make every effort to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
